By using the Shaft Optimizer 3D technology from Mizuno, it is possible to get a truly customized shaft for any iron model. This technology uses special software called “Swing DNA” and requires visiting a Mizuno Fitter or Performance Center. The golfers take three swings by using the Shaft Optimizer, which is a special attachment on the shaft, communicating with the Swing DNA software via Bluetooth. After taking three swings, the Shaft Optimizer creates a “Swing DNA” for the golfer: This data includes the clubhead speed, tempo, shaft toe down, shaft kick angle, and the release factor.
The Swing DNA software analyzes this data and creates a special profile for the golfer. After that, software ranks every available iron shaft model based on the swing profile. The golfer may decide to promote to a lower-ranked shaft or a higher one: The Swing DNA helps him to choose.
Basically the software lists best to worst theoretical matches to improve the performance of the player. Once the visitor is satisfied, a custom shaft is decided upon. This technology (and custom-fit shafts) can be used on any iron club produced by Mizuno.
